Diedrich Von Soosten is a Managing Director and has been involved with the turnaround and restructuring of financially distressed businesses for nearly 30 years. He has experience in a wide variety of industries and he has developed an extensive practice in agriculture (Click for details). He has provided leadership in developing and implementing creative solutions to address strategic, structural and operational challenges confronting his clients. He has experience in both bankruptcy and out of court restructurings, the sale of distressed businesses as going concerns, and outright liquidations.

Diedrich is a former partner of Price Waterhouse having served in their New York office for over 14 years. While at Price Waterhouse, he developed a wide-ranging and substantial skill set related to auditing practices and techniques. He provided acquisition and audit support services to a large number and broad range of multi-national, Fortune 500, and other domestic entities. He has completed a large number of successful consulting engagements for lenders, debtor companies, and the shareholders of both privately and publicly owned businesses. These assignments have included operational and financial restructurings, sales of business segments, going concern liquidations, and debt recovery advisory services. He has provided assistance to many financial institutions, including Nordic American Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo Business Credit, Wells Fargo Foothill, Finova, Lighthouse Financial Corporation, and RBC Bank.


These engagements involved assessments of the viability of debtors, determining the resources required to effect a turnaround or restructuring, and identifying the options available to maximize the lenders recovery. Diedrich has extensive experience with the bankruptcy process and has served as the restructuring advisor to debtor companies in Chapter 11 proceedings in bankruptcy courts in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, and Colorado. His involvement has included the successful confirmation of plans of reorganization and section 363 sales. In the early 1990s, he worked closely with a number of other leading turnaround professionals in developing the criteria and the process for providing professional certification of turnaround specialists. This work led to the creation of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals, of which he was a founding director and officer.

Diedrich has written several articles on various aspects of the turnaround process and the early warning signs of distress in businesses. He received the 2003 Turnaround of the Year Award from the Atlanta Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association for his work in restructuring Bland Farms, LLC, the largest grower and shipper of Vidalia onions in Georgia. A graduate of Lehigh University, Diedrich has been a Certified Turnaround Professional since 1996. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
